Dog-obsessed, coffee-addict, cheese plate connoisseur, & lover of seeing the light-bulb moments on my students’ faces!

 

I’ve spent over 15 years in the education sector, propelled by the belief that all students have the ability to learn and deserve access to quality education! Over the years, I’ve helped build schools in Guatemala, measure student achievement in over a dozen countries, and helped more than 1,000 students achieve their goal scores on the SAT & ACT. I’m a graduate of Rutgers and Georgetown Universities.

Through more than 10,000 tutoring hours, logged in-person and virtually, in the US and abroad, I’ve developed effective methodologies to beat these tests and help students achieve their goals.

In addition to helping with test prep, I also have a proven track record of helping students develop robust math skills, increase their math academic performance, and develop math (and life!) confidence. I help my students see that math (and other challenges) are all figure-out-able!

 I drink lots of coffee and love visiting local coffee shops. I really appreciate the community that can build around a local cafe and the coffee shop vibe.

I love feeling snuggled and ready to curl up with a good book. Just call me the typical American girl.

Sometimes it's like they are seeing something beautiful for the first time and other times it's like the physical manifestation of "mind blown". 

 

Quirks…

 

Always a bit frazzled

My brain goes a mile a minute and my mouth quickly follows - I talk fast and switch between topics without proper notice. I know I've found a kindred spirit in my student when we are able to carry several different conversations simultaneously and tease out the connections between them.


I love flip flops

 and basically wear the year-round. Sun's out, toes out, amiright?!


I have a soft spot for 90's pop

Backstreet Boys rule! and Spice Girls are in my daily shuffle

I am a bagel connoisseur

::cough cough:: snob - I grew up in Brooklyn and I didn't realize that the corner bagel shop was anything special. However, traveling has allowed me to try bagels from all over the world, and, well, there isn't anything as good as NY bagel.

If I could have one thing…

 Besides World Peace? It would have to be an extra hour! There's never enough time in the day. I am trying so hard to find some kind of balance and take time for me, but it's hard. I always wish I had an extra hour to do self care or something fun for me
